WAMU to accept major award
The National Association of Broadcasters has announced today (8/3) that WAMU’s Bluegrass Country is the winner of their 2009 HD Radio Multicast Award.
The award will be presented during the NAB Radio Show in Philadelphia on September 25, leaving the WAMU staff precious little time to beat feet to Nashville in time for IBMA!
The NAB site describes the criteria for this award:
Winners of the NAB HD Radio Multicast Award are recognized for their ability to create innovative or groundbreaking programming on their multicast channel. To be eligible for the award, stations submitted information about the channel’s programming, on-air personalities, promotions, branding elements and Web sites to illustrate the qualities that make their multicast channel separate from their main station.
Congratulations to Katy, Jenn, Echo, Jerad, Lisa, Mary Sue, Bob and everyone else at Bluegrass Country! You guys earned this one.
