Top 15 Finalist in the Country Music TV Song Contest
Hello everyone,
My name is Russ Pruitt, and I am new to blogging, so please be gentle with me. A bluegrass gospel song of mine is a top 15 finalist in this year’s Country Music Television Song Contest. Beginning March 1st my song and the others will be posted at www.cmt.com. I was asked to send in a photo and a bio, so you may see my picture there, but please don’t hold how I look against the song
. The top 15 will be recut in Nashville and put on a compilation CD for radio distribution. The top six songs will get publishing contracts, and the top two will get paid trips to Nashville and other goodies.
The song is called Glory Land. it would be great if you would go to the website on or after March 1st, and if you like the song, I would really appreciate your vote. I am not playing or singing on the song, I just wrote it, and I want to give props to the pickers: Jessie Jeffries: mandolin and singing lead; Tim Vogler: banjo (Jessie and Tim are in the Peach Mountain Boys; Dave Morrison: dobro and bass (Dave is with Blackwater Fox); Brad Lambert: lead and rhythm guitar and harmonies (Brad plays mandolin with the Bluegrass Disciples and banjo from time to time with The Jeni Lyn Band.)
This will be a great way to promote bluegrass to a wider audience.
I thank you in advance for your support.
Russ Pruitt
