Ron Block on WFDU

Ron Block banjo DVD from AcuTabRon Block will be the featured guest on Friday’s (12/12) edition of Lonesome Pine RFD on WFDU-FM.

He will join host Carol Beaugard from 11:00 a.m. until noon to talk about his new AcuTab banjo instructional DVD, A Fresh Look At Bluegrass Banjo, and his work with Alison Krauss & Union Station. Carol will also play some of Ron’s many recordings during the hour.

The show is broadcast from 9:00 a.m. to noon (EDT) on 89.1 FM in the NYC area, and streamed live online at WFDU.fm.


Chris Stuart on Lonesome Pine RFD

Chris Stuart & Backcountry - Crooked ManChris Stuart, singer, songwriter – and the 2008 IBMA Print Media Person of The Year -  will join Carol Beaugard on Friday morning on WFDU. He’ll talk with Carol about his new status as the winner of a major award, and his latest CD release with Backcountry, Crooked Man.

Carol’s show, Lonesome Pine RFD, is broadcast from 9:00 a.m. to noon (EST) on 89.1 FM in the NYC area, and streamed live online at WFDU.fm.

Chris will be on with Carol at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 21.


Friday interviews online

It must be Women In Bluegrass Friday this week – at least in online radio streams. We found two interviews scheduled for 11/14 with prominent female artists, and noted female radio hosts.

April VerchFirst up is fiddler April Verch who be a guest of Carol Beaugard on WFDU’s Lonesome Pine RFD at 11:00 a.m.

She’ll be talking about her latest CD, Steal The Blue, which features her on both fiddle and lead vocals on a musical melange of French Canadian, Appalachian, Bluegrass, and Celtic influences.

WFDU airs on 89.1 FM in the NYC area, and is streamed live online at WFDU.fm. Carol’s show is also recorded for rebroadcast at a later date on WAMU’s Bluegrass Country.
