Mark Newton has a music video for the title track of his latest CD, Hillbilly Hemingway. It will load and play automatically when you visit his web site.

The song, written by Mike Ward, Tommy Meece and Carl Jackson, is a tribute to country music legend Hank Williams. The video includes a series of images of Hank from the old days.

Dobro player Randy Kohrs will be joining the Mark Newton Band for at least three shows during the month of May. All three shows are in the state of Virginia.

In addition to these concerts, Randy and Clay Hess will also be conducting workshops on their respective instruments on May 5th at the Ashland Coffee & Tea in Ashland, VA. The workshop will start around 11:30 a.m. and will be approximately 2 hours in length.

Mark Newton will be the guest on this week’s edition of XM Satellite Radio’s Studio Special on Bluegrass Junction (XM-14). He joins host Kyle Cantrell for a one hour show that mixes interviews with live (in studio) performances from Mark’s latest release, Hillbilly Hemingway, on Rebel Records.

The show debuted today (1/5) at 8:00 a.m., but will be rebroadcast several more times over the next week.

Bluegrass Junction can be found on XM 14, and is their 24/7 bluegrass channel. XM Radio Online is also available for subscribers who want to listen online when they are away from their receiver, or for folks who prefer to subscribe for online listening only.

Mark Newton will be on XM’s Bluegrass Junction tomorrow (10/25) with a World Premier of his new Rebel release, Hillbilly Hemingway.

The CD won’t be officially released until November 7, but Mark and producer Carl Jackson will join XM’s Kyle Cantrell at 3:00 p.m. from XM’s studio at The Country Music Hall Of Fame in Nashville.

They will play all 12 tracks from the CD, and discuss the songs and the recording during the show.

This first broadcast of the show can be heard on XM Channel 14 on Wednesday, October 25 at 3:00 p.m. If you miss it then, look for re-airings this Sunday at 3:00 p.m., and several more next month after the CD is released.

There are audio samples from the new project on Mark’s web site, and pre-orders can be placed from there as well.
