Alison Krauss, John Waite on Leno

John Waite and Alison Krauss to appear on The Tonight Show 2/5/07Bluegrass/country star Alison Krauss will make an appearance Monday (2/5) on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, performing with veteran British pop singer John Waite. They will sing Waite’s recent re-recording of his 1984 hit, Missing You, which was redone with Alison on his Rounder Records debut, Downtown…Journey of a Heart, released in January 2007.

The remake has been doing well in a limited release to country radio, getting airplay in some large markets like Chicago, Dallas, Minneapolis and Boston. A video has been filmed as well for Missing You, shot by Rocky Schenck, who has directed several other popular Krauss music videos (Restless, Maybe, Goodbye Is All We Have).

The video was filmed at the Jim Henson Studios in Los Angeles. Does that suggest that shaggy puppets will make an appearance?

Look for John Waite and Alison Krauss on Leno Monday night. The show airs on NBC at 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT) and musical guests generally perform last on the show.
