Welcome Rosalie Cass Sharp

rosalie.jpgThis was a happy week for banjo pickers!

We posted on Tuesday that Aaron McDaris and his wife celebrated the birth of their daughter, Katie Leann, on Monday.

It turns out that Monday was also a special day for Graham Sharp and his wife, Seph. They welcomed their daughter, Rosalie Cass Sharp, that same day.

Graham sent us a note remarking on a very interesting convergence of events.

“Get this… Rosalie was born same minute, same day as Aaron’s little girl. Her big brother, Wade, is taking good care of her while Seph and I sleep.

Look out world!”

Congratulations to the growing Sharp family as well.

North Carolina Banjo Clinic

Cindy Baucom sent in a couple photos from the past weekend at the North Carolina Banjo Clinic in Burnsville, NC.

The event was hosted by Rod Johnston of Village Productions. Instructors included Tom Adams, Graham Sharpe, Mike Scott and Terry Baucom. Banjo students from across the country participated in the two-day event. Instruction was given for players at all levels from novice to advanced as the instructors rotated hourly throughout the classrooms. The Steep Canyon Rangers wrapped up the event with a performance Saturday evening at the Burnsville Town Center.

Following the success of this clinic, Johnston already has plans for other banjo clinics in the future, with possible expansion to other instruments as well.
