Sam Bush – MPI studio sessions

Sam Bush - photo by doyaknow @ Flickr.comWe heard recently from Steve Fishell, director of the Music Producers Institute, with word about their next studio clinic. The session will feature Sam Bush, who will spend three days with the class to record and mix new songs – along with his band and long-time engineer, David Sinko.

The seminar, held at Ocean Way Nashville February 28-March 2, is designed to help music producers learn from established professionals in the studio. There is also one going on this week with Jerry Douglas.

Fishell says that the sessions are open to studio pros and home recordists alike.

“Jerry and Sam are both very happy and excited about opening up their studio doors to interested students. In the case of each of these amazing musicians, I’m finding that people will go to great lengths to attend: all of Jerry and Sam’s students are driving or flying into Nashville from out of state, and one fellow is actually flying in all the way from Great Britain for Jerry Douglas’ session!  It will be a remarkable experience for people to see the real thing — and all the hard work involved — when making recordings of this calibre.”

Full details can be found on the MPI web site, and registration is limited to 10 students.

They are offering a free video download, 7 Ways To Produce Better Tracks, to everyone who signs up for their email newsletter.
