Unless things have changed again in the last week………
Bryn is no longer with the band. She left to play bass and her natural instrument, Cello, with Patty Giffin. She is also doing various gigs with Guy Clark. I think she is still going to do some select dates with the Tony Rice Unit, but not the quartet.
She and I just worked on a banjo record for Mike Sumner, winner of the banjo contest at Merlefest, Rockygrass, and Winfield. All in the same year. (2001 I think)
Sharon Gilchrist will still be doing some dates with Peter & Tony, but Mike Bub has been called to do the bass work for much of the shows on the schedule. I’m not sure which lineup will show up each night. I know Bub can’t do them all since he has commitments with Dale Ann Bradley this summer.
Musical Chairs!
