New Years Eve bluegrass, live from The Birchmere
WAMU’s Bluegrass Country will be broadcasting live on New Year’s Eve from The Birchmere in Alexandria, VA.
Starting at 8:00 p.m. tomorrow night (EST), hosts Katy Daley and Lee Michael Demsey will be live on the air (and online) to emcee the show. Performing will be Dead Men’s Hollow, Darren Beachley & Legends of the Potomac, plus Seldom Scene.
Count on plenty of live bluegrass – with the obligatory singing of Auld Lang Syne at midnight. There hasn’t been a promise of any cross-band jamming, but with two original members of the Scene in Legends of the Potomac (Tom Gray and Mike Auldridge), there certainly is the potential for some interesting reunion music to be heard.
