New Monroe music park in Kentucky

The Nashville Business Journal is reporting that James Monroe (son of Bill), will open a bluegrass music park in Franklin, KY in the spring of 2006. The site is just north of the KY/TN border, about 45 miles from Nashville. Monroe and his band, The Midnight Ramblers, will perform there weekly, with headlining bluegrass acts appearing in scheduled monthly concerts as well.

Bill and James Monroe had operated a similarly-themed music park in Bean Blossom, IN from the early 1960s until Bill’s passing in 1996. The park was sold in 1998, but is still in operation as a bluegrass music park and museum, The Bill Monroe Memorial Music Park. James has said that this was his inspiration to purchase the KY property.

We will bring you more information about this new bluegrass facility as we obtain more information.
