With the release this week of the new Mountain Heart album, Bluegrass FM in Virginia and BluegrassFm.org has produced a 30 minute radio special featuring six tracks from the group’s new CD “Road That Never Ends” and exclusive interviews with producer and fiddle player Jim Van Cleve and banjo player Barry Abernathy.

The special is being broadcast this weekend October 27-28 at 8am & 8pm ET on Bluegrass FM 89.5 WWED in Fredericksburg, VA and on the internet at the station’s website BluegrassFm.org. There are also a few photos on the website of the group’s CD pre-release party performance on the 21st floor of the Renaissance Nashville Hotel on October 2.Bluegrass FM is a growing network of 100% 24/7 non-commercial and donor-supported stations. Besides WWED, the second station in the network, WWEM, will begin broadcasting in November on 91.7 from the Lynchburg, VA area.

Applications for four more Bluegrass FM stations are pending before the FCC for the communities of Winchester, Front Royal, Harrisonburg-Staunton-Waynesboro, and Williamsburg.The station also is home to a digital recording studio where an increasing number of bluegrass projects are being recorded each year.

An in-studio show called “Bluegrass FM Cafe” is being planned to allow local and national groups to chat and jam. The result will be captured and broadcast over the Bluegrass FM stations.The General Manager and Program Director for Bluegrass FM is Pete Stover.
