More changes afoot…
Well, here are a couple more band changes to announce at year’s end.
Mandolinist Bobby Clark is leaving the Williams & Clark Expedition to work with Jerry Butler & The Blu-J’s. Clark has toiled in the bluegrass salt mines for for quite some time, perhaps most prominently for 15 years with banjo player/comedian Mike Snider. He has picked up his share of mandolin trophies, including Winfield, and his solo recordings have been used as theme music and in soundtracks on CMT and PBS.
With Bobby’s arrival, Jerry and the J’s are composed of Butler on guitar and vocals, John Wade on bass, Daniel Oxendine on banjo, Tim Goins on resonator guitar, and Clark on mandolin.
So… with no Clark, what happens to the Williams & Clark Expedition? They become The Expedition Show, that’s what.
Kimberly and Blake Williams, along with Wayne Southards, will continue to perform together under this revised name, and have quite a schedule already set for 2010. Blake is on banjo, Kimberly on bass and Wayne on guitar. All three sing and contribute to the band’s clever and entertaining stage show.
Look for word soon from The Expedition about a fourth member to be added shortly.
We are hearing rumblings about even more personnel changes yet to be announced. Keep your score card handy folks – it ain’t over yet!
