Mmmm… toasty!

Gary FarrisNothin’ Fancy guitar player Gary Farris has moved into the exciting world of food service – not an unfamiliar side career for bluegrass musicians.

But Gary won’t be mopping floors or chopping onions. He and partner Jerry Ingram have teamed up as owners of a Quiznos restaurant in Waynesboro, VA.

Nothin Fancy performs at Quiznos in Waynesboro, VAThe new establishment had its Grand Opening in February, and Nothin’ Fancy was on hand to provide the appropriate bluegrass entertainment.

Gary is psyched about his new venture, and hopes that all his bluegrass buddies will stop for a bite when traveling through central Virginia. The restaurant is located at 400 Tiffany Drive in Waynesboro.

The title should be “Mmm…Toasted!” Gary Farris is probably a great guitar player but he obviously didn’t do his homework before choosing a franchisor. Quiznos is well known as a rogue operation that seeks to suck franchisees dry by forcing franchisees to buy through its own food distributor AFD. Q franchisees pay the highest food and paper costs of any major QSR in the U.S. They are also subjected to predatory promotions and couponing that bring in traffic but NOT additonal revenue and PROFITS. They also pay into an ad fund that provides no accountability on how that money is spent.

For those who question google Quiznos s**** and be prepared for pages and pages of answers.

Gary, I suggest joining the Toasted Sub Franchisee Association. It’s an eye opening read for franchisees. Maybe you can help the TSFA setup food and ad co-ops to help franchisees stop the bleeding.

For anyone thinking of buying a franchise check out Unhappy Franchisee.com and Blue Mau Mau. You’ll get the truth about Quiznos and other lousy franchise offerings, including another Rick Schaden operation, 123 Fitness.
