Michael Cleveland tackles Big Mon
Here’s a great video of Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper shot during their free concert this past Friday (4/3) at the International Bluegrass Music Museum in Owensboro, KY.
It features the guys tearing it up on a version of the Bill Monroe classic, Big Mon. The lighting isn’t fabulous, but the music is just fine.

This past Friday (12/26) was Darrell Webb's first show with Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper - and...
Here's another interesting package show for 2010.

Great Music Michael Cleveland on Big Mon but shame about the ‘Nodding Dog’ syndrome of Mandolin & Guitar Players !
Cherryholmes have a similar problem when say the banjo is taking a break Mother C/Holmes is bopping in the background taking the thunder away from the soloist.
Apart from that both great bands to hear but not to watch.
Thanks for the great B/G Blog.
Andy.
Ah yes, god forbid the other members of the band appear to be engaged in the music and having a great time entertaining the folks in the audience! We wouldn’t want that… There is no amount of “bopping” that could steal the thunder from the fantastic Michael Cleveland. It only serves to add to the enthusiasm of the entire show. Bluegrass, as a rule, could use some attention to the entertainment value of its generally virtuosic shows. Cheers to MC and Flamekeeper. They all rock!
