I heard some rough mixes a few weeks ago. Good stuff, and most of the songs on the album are new.

Grasshead145, I would suggest you do a little research before casting stones my friend. Dennis is a regular contributor here at The Bluegrass Blog who often sends us news stories for publication. If you were to simply click on his name in one of his comments you would be taken to the website of WNCW, the radio station at which he works, and could easily find a photo of him and a short bio.

I don't know much about the CD in question, but I seem to remember John telling me that Rob Ickes played on the session and thought it was pretty cool. I won't easily discount that testimony. This CD will be what it is, and that won't be a strait ahead grass album I'm sure, but that doesn't mean it can't be good music.

Don't be so quick to make a judgment. I know some folks who worked on the project and are pretty reliable in their opinion of good music. It's not an attempt at a straight ahead Bluegrass disc, more along the lines of acoustic Hag....who's songs have been covered by some very high profile and accomplished Bluegrass groups BTW....so I think I'll wait and give a close listen first. The word I got was, it's fantstic.

PU. Merle Haggard doing a "Pickin' On" album is a sign of the apocalypse isn't it? He's great, but that is sad. Thumbs down. Bad idea.
