MasterShield Records is delighted to announce that two fine bluegrass bands have joined their label.

From Harrisville, a little town in New York’s rugged north country, come the unique and audience grabbing band, The Atkinson Family. They are a very traditional band yet have their own original stamp which you pick up on very quickly. They present a high energy stage show and a sound that is a joy to hear – one you want to hear over and over. They are in the process of recording a new gospel project, “Angels Rejoice”, which is scheduled for release in the very near future.

Another recent addition is Southern Skye, a 5 piece teen band from southeast Kentucky. They mix traditional bluegrass along with contemporary style original tunes. Their motto, “Reaching back to the past to bring bluegrass to the future” is very evident in the various types of venues where they perform. They will have a new project available in early summer and we expect it to do very well.
