Larry Stephenson – Back to the future
And the band scramble continues…
We checked in with Larry Stephenson to see who would be joining his group when Kristin Scott Benson leaves later this month to become the newest Grascal.
“Rick Allred will be playing banjo with us.
I started my band 20 years ago next February and Rick was the original banjo player. He recorded three of our early CD’s and was with us for about two years.
I’m looking forward very much to working with Rick again. He’s one of the best that’s ever played banjo with me.”
Rick was also a member of Summer Wages and The Country Gentlemen before joining up with Larry the first time in 1989.

The ORIGINAL banjo picker for the Larry Stevenson band was in fact LARRY JETT (now of the BG/Gospel band SonRise). Who also added 2 cuts (publisher Dooms Music/BMI) to the 12 cut LP.
