Jerry Butler & The Blu-Js

Jerry Butler & The Blu-JsJerry Butler has announced that he will be leaving Lorraine Jordan & Carolina Road to focus on a solo career. The guitarist and lead singer, who also did a lengthy stint with Pine Mountain Railroad, has formed a new group, Jerry Butler & the Blu-J’s, and is accepting dates now for 2010.

The new band will include Jerry on guitar and vocals, John Wade on bass, Tim Goins on banjo and resonator guitar, Jim Fraley on banjo and Jason Fraley on mandolin. They will be represented by Grassline Entertainment.

Jerry Butler and John Wade - Haulin GrassButler and Wade also have a new CD on Blue Circle Records, Haulin’ Grass, a set of bluegrass-style trucking-inspired songs. They are joined by Ron Stewart on fiddle, Kenny Ingram on banjo, Chris Harris on mandolin and Matt Leadbetter on resonator guitar. Steve Gully and Melissa Lawrence add harmony vocals on the album as well.

Jerry will be leaving Carolina Road at the end of the year, as will Wade. Look for 2010 dates on the Blu-J’s web site soon.
