The fact that he could have kept going further (and weirder) yet chose to return to bluegrass really says a lot. Of course, I'm sure none of the die-hard 'grass purists liked the record, especially with the F-Bomb. I would like to see him win mandolin player of the year, since he's one of the best musicians alive, in any genre. I really think Chris Thile’s new record should’ve been nominated for something.
