Just a note to let Balsam Range and Pine Mountain Railroad fans know that Volunteer Speedway in BullsGap, TN is hosting their first ever “Pickin’ in the Gap’ Bluegrass show on Friday September 5th featuring these two groups. Also appearing that evening will be Alexandria VA’s sister act, GoldHeart. Local favorite Highway 11 will be the opener for the show. Volunteer Speedway is located off Interstate 81, at exit 23, and has an excellent site for a Festival venue. This show is a covered event, and the Speedway will allow camping (however there are no hook-ups.) This show is the first in what is planned to be an anual event, with a huge 3-day show in negotiation for September 2009. The 09′ show is planned to be a Friday and Saturday all-day event, with a full day of Gospel Bluegrass on Sunday.
