Josh Miller, banjo picker with NewFound Road, and his wife Jessie are celebrating the birth of their first child. Joshua Andrew Miller was born Monday morning (4/20), weighing in at 9 lbs 14 oz.

We posted a note earlier this week about the birth of Joshua Andrew Miller, newborn son of NewFound Road's banjo man, Josh Miller. Little Josh burst onto the scene Monday at nearly ten pounds.
We promised at the time to put up a baby picture as soon as we got one, and so we have.

Wow... things move fast in the bluegrass world!
Just a short while after the sudden announcement that Jr. Williams was leaving NewFound Road comes news of their hiring of another red-headed banjo picker.

NewFound Road is back home after recently completing a west coast tour with fiddler Jim Van Cleve in tow. The band had shows in Arizona and California, taking a brief time out for a bit of tourist activity while in San Francisco.

Aaron McDaris, the incoming banjo player with Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, has something else to celebrate this Christmas season.
He and his wife, Amy, welcomed their second child, Katie Leann, on December 8. She was born at 3:46 (EST) and weighed in at 7 pounds 4 ounces, and 19.5 inches long.

Rob and Lisa McCoury celebrated the birth of their second child, and first son, just a few days ago. Del Mercer Davis McCoury was born on August 23, at 8:47 a.m. Congratulations to the happy parents, and the whole McCoury clan.

We just received news of the arrival of Hogan Wayne Benson, who was born on October 6, 2006. His parents are Kristin Scott Benson, banjo picker with Larry Cordle & Lonesome Standard Time, and Wayne Benson, mandolinist with The John Cowan Band.

Banjo picker extraordinaire Alison Brown and her husband (and Compass Records co-founder) Garry West recently celebrated the birth of their son, Brendan Brown West.
Brendan was born on April 10, and arrived at 8 lbs. 8 oz. His dad is also a fine musician, so young Brendan will surely get a fine start...
Kentucky bluegrasser Don Rigsby and his wife Tina welcomed their son, Andrew, to the world on December 1. He was born just before 7:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, and landed at 6 lb. 9 oz. (19.5'').

John Miller, who has most recently been playing mandolin and singing tenor with Junior Sisk & Rambler's Choice, tells us that he is leaving the group. No word yet about a replacement.
John says that his future plans are in flux, but it's clear that someone will get a strong guitar and tenor man...
