Grass Cats Headline Music & Storytelling Festival
The Grass Cats, nationally acclaimed bluegrass masters, will headline five hours of entertainment Saturday, May 16, at the area’s first Front Porch Music & Storytelling Festival. Music begins at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church Christian Life Center, 100 S. Hughes St, Apex, NC, and continues to 4 p.m. Lunch will be available at the Festival site.The Grass Cats will be joined by multi-instrumentalist folk musician Joseph Helfrich and storytellers Andy Offutt Irwin and Alan Hoal. The Cats mix music from six recordings with songs from artists as diverse as Eric Clapton, Duke Ellington, The Who, Bob Marley and Johnny Cash. Suggested admission is three cans of food for each Festival goer. Food will be donated to Western Wake Crisis Ministry.
