Dueling Banjos – a long overdue facelift

What are some of the most popular movies among folks in the Appalachian mountains?  Thanks to Burt Reynolds, any film which involves football, NASCAR, bootlegging… and whitewater canoeing.

Because of this, our band Steel String Session – a Bluegrass fusion band from Ducktown, Tennessee who also happens have its fair-share of whitewater boaters, is regularly asked to perform the classic instrumental Dueling Banjos. In our area it is synonymous with whitewater canoeing, kayaking and rafting.

Here is our sophisticated version, which Steel String Session “smartened up” to bring it into the current decade of digital downloads:
