Dr. Doyle Lawson
Doyle Lawson will soon be joining the ranks of bluegrass heros such as Ralph Stanley who have a Dr. in front of their names. We just found out that King College in Bristol, TN will be honoring Doyle with a Doctor of Fine Arts degree on May 5, 2007. After presentation of the honorary degree, Doyle will give a speech during the Commencement Ceremony for King’s graduating class.
In addition to the speech, the students will also be treated to a special presentation of Doyle’s music, as he sings 3 songs for them during the proceedings. That is sure to leave no doubt in the students’ minds as to why Doyle is being presented with this honor!
It is an honor for Doyle, and an opportunity for him to introduce new fans to his music, and by extension bluegrass music in general.
Congrats Doyle!

Here is the final webisode in the Ask Doyle series, with Doyle Lawson talking about what keeps him going...
