DC Bluegrass Union (DCBU) Hosts Fall Concert Nov. 3

Two Top Bluegrass Acts Coming to Washington!

The D.C. Bluegrass Union will present Robin & Linda Williams and Their Fine Group and the John Cowan Band at its fall concert at 7pm on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007 at the James Lee Theater 2855-A Annandale Rd, in Falls Church, VA 22042. Doors open at 6:30pm. Tickets are $24 for DCBU members and $28 for general public. For advance tickets or for additional information, call 703-916-0655.

For more than a quarter of a century, Robin and Linda Williams have delighted audiences large and small with a blend of bluegrass, folk, old-time and acoustic country that truly merits the title of “American music.” They are regulars on A Prairie Home Companion radio show and have released 18 albums. Robin and Linda are internationally known for their rich harmonies and original songwriting and are joined in concert by Jim Watson on bass and bluegrass veteran Jimmy Gaudreau on mandolin and mandola.

John Cowan is best known for his pioneering work with the Newgrass Revival. His stratospheric tenor and driving bass are Cowan signatures. Equally comfortable with a bluegrass standard or an R&B classic, Cowan continues to blaze new inroads into progressive acoustic music with his band of crackerjack Nashville players. His newest album, Tatoo, was released this spring.

We are also pleased to announce the participation of our media sponsor, bluegrasscountry.org.

The D.C. Bluegrass Union is a 501(c)3 non-profit membership organization with a mission to promote bluegrass music and educate the public on this unique American art form. For more information, please visit www.dcbu.org.
