Curly Seckler on the road again!
Following his appearance on Saturday night (5/2) at The Station Inn for the launch of the Paul Warren tribute CD, 89 year old bluegrass legend Curly Seckler will be on the road again this month.
On this coming Saturday, May 9, Seckler will perform in Wilkesboro, NC at the Bluegrass in Wilkes Festival at Forest Lake Amphitheater. He will perform two sets, each backed by Big Country Bluegrass.
This festival is a benefit for Friends of Rendezvous Mountain Educational State Forest. Proceeds will go to make improvements in the trails and to promote the educational mission of the Forest. Fire-fighters and forestry employees receive a discount on tickets.
A week later, on Saturday, May 16, Seckler will be at the historic Lincoln Theater in Marion, VA to tape the Song of the Mountains TV show for PBS. He will be backed by a fine young band based in Raleigh, NC, Constant Change. Also appearing on the concert will be the Tennessee Mafia Jug Band, Jett’s Creek, and Gary Crain.
Footnote:
On Friday, May 22 Seckler will appear on UNC-TV’s North Carolina People show, at 9:00pm. He will join host William Friday to discuss his life and career.
The interview will be repeated on Sunday, May 24 at 5:30pm, and can also be viewed online after the first airing.
