Criticism

I have to agree with Jon Weisberger on this one.  We have to give artists the freedom to experiment and express themselves or this music is headed nowhere, fast.

As a side note, I have heard Flatt & Scruggs on vintage Opry broadcasts performing “Cryin Holy Unto the Lord”, and the drums were as loud as any country song.  Jimmy Martin played it “good’n country” with drums too, and it worked great for me.

IBMA is not here to decide what is bluegrass and what is not.  That’s our job!
