Bluegrass Beatles – mystery solved!

OK… last post on the Bluegrass Beatles photo.

I heard yesterday from Sherri Chekal, who I had only recently met through her connections to the TriState Bluegrass Journal, and BluegrassTalkRadio.com. She laid claim to the Photoshop work on that classic Beatles image.

“Take a peek down at the bottom and you’ll see a teeny s.chekal 04. Well, that’s me. I’m glad that everyone likes it, I meant no disrespect, I was just sitting there one day and read something about all the musical influences on the Beatles and thought about the idea. I titled the image, The Beatles first musical attempt, before they realized that there just ‘weren’t’ no money in bluegrass and went to the rock and roll genre.

Maybe someday I’ll finish up a few more of my unlikely bluegrass bands. By the way, it’s a picture of Tony Rice’s guitar, Sam Bush’s mando, and JD’s banjo. I’m not quite sure who’s bass that is.”

Sherri originally posted the photo on her Buckeye Bluegrass web site. We first posted it here, and added an interesting story that was sent in response here.
