Blue Moon Rising soldiers on

The new band grabbed Keith Garrett and Harold Nixon from Blue Moon Rising to join Ron Stewart, Adam Steffey and John Bowman – leaving Chris West of BMR with a big hole in his group.

He not only finds himself without a solid bass player (Nixon) and a powerful lead singer (Garrett), West is also facing the loss of his long-time partner. Garrett and West started the group together, and Keith was a primary songwriter for Blue Moon Rising.

But he’s not looking back. Chris tells us that it’s full speed ahead for 2010 and beyond…

“Blue Moon Rising has been a band for nearly ten years now and will hit the road again in 2010 with a brand new lineup. Although me and Keith Garrett have played and sang together for all these years, I’m having a whole bunch of fun with the challenge of putting all the right pieces of the puzzle together to deliver Blue Moon Rising’s signature sound while giving our fans some fresh new talent and material in the process.”

In a major vote of confidence, Rural Rhythm Records has announced that they will release a new album for the band in late 2010, the 5th recording since West and Garrett started Blue Moon Rising in 2000.

So Chris West has his hands full over the holidays, holding auditions for new band members and pulling together songs for a new album. Hope his Christmas shopping is done!
