Backup Techniques On The Five-String Banjo

Jack Hatfield - Backup Techniques On The Five String BanjoJack Hatfield is set to release his latest book for 5 string banjo on December 15.

Backup Techniques On The Five-String Banjo is volume three in Jack’s Bluegrass Banjo Method series, running to 230 pages with 2 play-along audio CDs. This new book takes many of the songs that were presented in the first two books, and shows backup examples of several types.

Jack covers vamping, up and down the neck roll backup, fill in licks and more on more than 40 familiar bluegrass songs. The two CDs have the banjo and the band in separate stereo channels making them a simple and effective practice tool.

The book with CDs sells for $35. Advance orders are being accepted now, and Jack promises to have them shipped in time for Christmas.
